Some legends never die... they wait.
The Curse of Moll Dyer
Inspired by the chilling true Maryland legend that helped shape The Blair Witch Project, Moll Dyer is a haunting folk horror film that weaves together a 17th-century tale of persecution and witchcraft with a modern-day curse that refuses to die.
In 1697, a mysterious red-haired woman named Moll arrives by boat to a remote Maryland settlement, hoping for a fresh start. But her independence, knowledge of herbs, and strange ways stir fear among the suspicious townsfolk. When disease and misfortune strike, they brand her a witch. On a bitter winter night, she is hunted from her home, fleeing into the woods where she dies clinging to a rock—cursing the town with her final breath.
Centuries later, disgraced folklore professor Rebecca Wyrdhurst and her teenage daughter Mia return to their ancestral home in Leonardtown. A viral video of a girl vanishing after touching “Moll’s Rock” ignites Mia’s curiosity. As she delves into the town’s sinister history, she begins experiencing unsettling visions of Moll’s last days, feeling a bond with the woman who was wronged.
The missing girl in the video becomes a terrifying clue, leading Mia to uncover evidence that Moll’s curse still festers—and that a shadowy group may be willing to sacrifice her to end it. As her distrust of Rebecca grows, Mia begins to suspect her own mother is hiding a dangerous secret about their bloodline and the curse itself.
With the past bleeding into the present, Mia must face the horrifying truth: to survive, she must break the cycle of betrayal and claim the power Moll was denied centuries ago.
